DILLON, SC — Dillon Motor Speedway is kicking off the short track season in a huge way by achieving a record amount of entries for its 12th annual New Year’s Bash this weekend, featuring the Street Stock Nationals.
As of Saturday morning, there are more than 60 Street Stocks registered for the 100-lap, $2,500 to win event on Sunday. With only 31 cars making the feature, qualifying on Saturday and the B-Mains are going to be fun to watch.
In addition to the record Street Stocks, there are 40 plus 4 Cylinder entries registered. Between all five divisions scheduled for both days, it is expected that 125 cars will take to the 1/2-mile asphalt oval.
“I’m a racer who grew up with no money behind me, so I can relate to every one of those teams and what it takes for them to get here - I truly can. This is their Daytona 500, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. I’m very pleased to see them all here at Dillon.”
The two-day annual race for the for the full fender classes of Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Chargers, Legends and 4 Cylinders runs Saturday and Sunday.
