Ryan Litt, now a proud father, will be part of this weekend's field for Must See Racing's return to the state of New York at Lancaster Motorplex.
Canadian driver Ryan Litt is in a different stage of his life in 2024. He returned to racing action two weeks ago for the Must See Racing Sprint Series Presented by Perfit-Parts at Berlin Raceway as a proud father of a new baby girl. His wife Carly gave birth to Everly Litt on February 5.
When Litt was asked about his new role in life he was quick to answer. “It’s the best thing ever,” explains Litt. ”It’s a lot of work and you don’t get much sleep. “It’s pretty rewarding when you wake up and see her smiling. It just makes everything all better.”
Litt is the latest entry for this Saturday's (May 1) first-ever MSR appearance at Lancaster Motorplex in Lancaster, New York. It will be the first appearance of Must See Racing in the state of New York since 2012 when the series visited Oswego and Shangri-La Speedways. Both events drew huge crowds and this Saturday’s event looks to do the same.
Litt is eager to test his skills at the high-speed New York venue. He especially likes this addition to the MSR schedule because of its proximity to his London, Ontario home and he may have a slight advantage of sorts.
“My dad actually raced there before. He raced an ISMA Supermodified. He ran there a couple of times. I was there watching as a kid. That’s another reason why I’m pretty excited to go back. It will be neat to race on a track my dad raced on, and one I used to run around as a kid.
"I love the big high-speed tracks where you can really let it hang out. One thing that is unique about this track, from what my dad said, is when you come off turn four the front straightaway is actually part of the drag strip. He said the banking changes and offsets a little bit. It kinda rolls you towards the wall coming off of four. It’s definitely a unique place and one we’re excited to go to. Hopeful my dad’s experience can help me, and we can be fast coming off the trailer.
"This is probably our closest track. It’s probably only two hours to the border and another half hour to the track. We’re really excited about that too”.
Litt explained being a father changes things, but his desire to race is still strong. “I think your priorities change a bit when you’re a dad. You realize there is more to life than racing all the time. At the same time, I’m a third-generation racer and it’s in my blood. It’s something I’d like her to experience as well, and it would be neat to show her victory lane sometime and let her see her dad win a race," concluded Litt.
