56th Annual Snowball Derby to Pay Record Purse for Event
Sep 6, 2023
Entry forms will open Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. CDT (6 p.m. EDT) for the 56th Annual Snowball Derby presented by Hooters and the 20th Annual Allen Turner Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway.
Both technical inspection order (not including the top 10 in Blizzard Series and Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series points) and the order for the “Qualifying Drawdown” on Wednesday, November 29 will be determined by order of received entries. Therefore, teams are encouraged to submit their entries as early as possible to enjoy those benefits.
This year’s Snowball Derby sees a significant increase in the purse throughout the field. The winner will take home $35,000, with second place paying $20,000, third place paying $10,000, and every starter in the field winning at least $2,000.
Following hauler parking, technical inspection and the qualifying draw on Wednesday, Late Models will take the track for practice on Thursday, November 30. Pro Trucks, Pure Stocks and Sportsmen will also race Thursday night to kick off Snowball Derby week.
Super Late Models will qualify for the 56th Snowball Derby on Friday, December 1 in one of the most dramatic and nerve-racking nights of the season, with the top 30 qualifiers securing their spots in Sunday’s main event. Following Snowball Derby qualifying, there will be feature racing for the Modifieds of Mayhem in their season finale, as well as an invitational Crown Stock feature.
The Pro Late Models take center stage with the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 on Saturday, December 2. Along with qualifying for the Pro Late Models, there will be Last Chance Races for both the Snowball Derby and Snowflake 100 and the 50-lap Outlaw feature on Saturday.
Then, all eyes will be on Five Flags Speedway for the 56th Annual Snowball Derby presented by Hooters, as the top Super Late Model drivers in the country battle for the Tom Dawson Trophy.
