Snowball Derby Rewind: December 2
December 2 marks the first of five wins for "The King of the Derby" and Erik Jones shocking the world, to name a few.
Each day during our Snowball Derby coverage this week, we will look back on significant Snowball Derby moments that have taken place during the event's history. Today, we look at memorable races on December 2 during the Snowball Derby week.
On what could be his final weekend of racing, we look back to 1990 when Rich Bickle won the Snowball Derby for the first time. He, of course, would go on to win the race a record five times. No one else has won it more than twice.
RESULTS: 1990 Snowball Derby
Wayne Anderson was the victor in 2001 when he captured his Snowball Derby on this date. It was the third try for the Wildwood, Florida driver. Anderson beat out Johnny Henderson for the victory.

In 2007, Augie Grill won the first of his two Snowball Derby events. Grill beat out youngster Matt Hawkins for the win. Grill led the race for 69 laps with Hawkins leading 100. After the final pit stop Hawkins was put to the back for spinning Dave Mader, III. Hawkins rebounded to second, but could not rundown Grill for the win.

Back in 2012 Erik Jones shocked the world by surviving a battle with NASCAR star Kyle Busch. The Michigan youngster then pulled away to win the Snowball Derby for the first time.
