Stephen Nasse Charges to Allen Turner Snowflake 100 Victory
Dec 8, 2024
Seth Christensen capped off a strong 2024 season with a podium finish in the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 on Saturday night.
The Pendergrass, Georgia driver won two races during the 2024 Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series, and scored podium finishes in events such as the SpeedFest Pro Late Model feature at Cordele Motor Speedway and the Alabama 200 at Montgomery Motor Speedway.
Christensen also added a top-five finish in his Super Late Model debut, taking place at the UARA World Crown 300 at Cordele in October.
Like many drivers in Saturday's field, Christensen saw an adventurous Snowflake 100 filled with multi-car incidents. However, he was able to avoid the chaos and leave with a clean race car and a third-place showing.
"I keep telling people I have no idea how I survived that," Christensen told Racing America. "A lot of guys got super aggressive, super early. Just trying to be persistent, and consistent as possible, too. These guys were aggressive. They were on it pretty early from the get-go.
"The biggest help is Ricky [Turner] guiding me through these long races," he added. "100 laps isn't easy."
The night was the byproduct of great coaching, from the likes of crew chief Ricky Turner, spotter Steven Meador and fellow Fr8 Racing driver Jake Garcia, who will compete in the 57th Annual Snowball Derby on Sunday.
"Ricky, Will, Brian, Steven, my spotter, just stuck with me the whole way," said Christensen. "Jake Garcia for giving me pointers, huge thank you. This Fr8 Racing FURY race car was pretty fast.
"In qualifying, it wasn't what we expected there. We came through and our race pace was pretty good there on older tires. We finally figured out what the tires are going to do there."
Along with Garcia, the full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver who won the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway one month ago, Christensen also has two-time Snowball Derby winner and 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott in his corner as part of the Fr8 Racing effort.
Being able to lean on both drivers for advice has been crucial in Christensen's eyes.
"[Garcia] has tons of experience when it comes to races like these. All American 400 winner, so it's cool to lean on him whenever I need something. Huge thank you to Jake, as well as Chase, Ricky, and everyone involved for giving me pointers whenever I need them."
Garcia starts 17th in Sunday's 57th Annual Snowball Derby. The green flag waves at 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET from Five Flags Speedway.
