Practice pays during the final open test before the Snowball Derby.
It's often said in racing that winning practice doesn't pay. For one day only at Five Flags Speedway, however, the fastest lap in a practice session does offer prize money.
The Snowball Derby Preview is the last open practice session for teams at Five Flags across all divisions that will be competing in the Snowball Derby in December. Not only does the event offer valuable track time leading up to the biggest event of the season, it also puts money on the line during the final round of practice.
This year's Snowball Derby Preview is this Saturday, November 19, running from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time. During the final round of practice, cash prizes are on the line for the fastest driver in each of the divisions taking part in the Preview.
The fastest Super Late Model driver during the money round will receive $500. The top Pro Late Model will take him $300, while the fastest car among the Outlaws, Sportsmen, Pro Trucks, Modifieds and Pure Stocks will each receive $200.
