Nov 10, 2023
It's a big weekend in Pensacola, with both the Miss Snowball Derby Pageant and the Snowball Derby Preview taking place on Friday and Saturday.
This weekend is a big one in Pensacola, Florida on the Road to the Snowball Derby, including the continuation of one of the event’s biggest traditions and a chance for teams to take the track at Five Flags Speedway before the crown jewel event.
On Friday, November 17, the Miss Snowball Derby Pageant will once again take place at Seville Quarter in downtown Pensacola. The pageant takes place at 7 p.m. CT, with free admission to those wishing to attend. The newly crowned Miss Snowball Derby will be part of the on-track festivities during this year’s Derby on November 30-December 3.
Along with the Miss Snowball Derby crown, pageant winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize courtesy of Fast Cash ATM Services. Second and third place receive $300 and $200, respectively.
In addition, the winner will receive a piece of fine jewelry from Jewelers Trade Shop, and Miss Congeniality will receive a piece of fine jewelry from Bere' Jewelers.
The following day, the activity moves to Five Flags Speedway for the Snowball Derby Preview. For teams competing during the Snowball Derby, this is the last official on-track opportunity for the teams before embarking on the big event during the first week of December.
It is also a rare opportunity for teams to win money during a practice session. During the final round of practice, bonus money will be on the line for the fastest driver in each division. The fastest Super Late Model team will pocket $500, with $300 going to quick time for Pro Late Models. In Outlaws, Sportsmen, Pro Trucks, Modifieds and Pure Stocks, the prize will be $200.
A new addition to the Snowball Derby Preview this year is a feature race for the Story & Bleich Crown Stocks. The 40-lap race will pay $1,000 to the winner.
Practice sessions during the Snowball Derby Preview will begin at 10 a.m. CT, running until 6 p.m. local time. After that, the focus will turn to the Crown Stock 40-lapper. Like the Miss Snowball Derby Pageant, admission is free for the Snowball Derby Preview.
Fans unable to attend this weekend’s festivities in Pensacola can watch live on Racing America. RacingAmerica.TV will offer a “freeview” of the Miss Snowball Derby Pageant, allowing anyone to watch the event free of charge. The Snowball Derby Preview and Crown Stock feature on Saturday will be available to Racing America Subscribers.
