A total of $15,000 will be up for grabs for drivers during this year’s Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in lap leader bonuses.
In a partnership between US Tank and Five Flags Speedway in memory of Jonathan and Jillian Brown, the leader of each lap of the 55th Annual Snowball Derby presented by Hooters will earn $50. Over the course of the 300-lap Super Late Model event, $15,000 in lap money will be available.

With the race paying $30,000 to win, it is possible for a driver to win up to $45,000 between the first-place prize money and lap leader bonuses. That’s not including the $10,000 Welcome to Pensacola bonus for first-time Derby competitors, which means a rookie could score up to $55,000 with a win.
“It’s very special for Jennifer Brown and myself to be able to do this,” said Michael Tippen, president of US Tank. “We’re very blessed to be a part of this year’s Snowball Derby.”
Each car in the Snowball Derby will also carry a decal in memory of Jonathan and Jillian Brown.
The 55th Annual Snowball Derby presented by Hooters will take place on December 1-4. The event is the biggest in pavement Super Late Model racing, with nearly 60 entries already filed for the race.
