Jett Motorsports Announces Driver Lineup for 57th Annual Snowball Derby

Jett Motorsports is thrilled to announce its driver lineup for this year’s 57th Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway, a highlight on short-track racing’s calendar. Kaden Honeycutt will pilot the familiar Larry Blount No. 21 Super Late Model in the Snowball Derby and Derek Thorn will climb behind the wheel of the No. 16 Pro Late Model for the Snowflake 100.

Kaden Honeycutt comes into the event with significant momentum as the 2024 CARS Tour Pro Late Model Champion. Honeycutt, who has made four previous Derby starts, is no stranger to success at Five Flags Speedway, with a standout top-five finish in the 2020 Snowball Derby. Behind the wheel of the SLM, Honeycutt is eager to add the coveted Derby trophy to his growing list of accomplishments.

Derek Thorn, a proven winner at the Snowball Derby, will pilot the No. 16 Pro Late Model in the Snowflake 100. Thorn’s pedigree speaks for itself as a two-time Snowflake 100 winner and the 2022 Snowball Derby Champion. Known for his skill, consistency, and track record in high-stakes events, Thorn is expected to be a strong contender once again this coming weekend.

This year’s Pro Late Model entry will feature a special tribute scheme honoring Jeff Sandlin, a dear friend of the racing community and close friend who passed away earlier in 2024. Jeff's passion for motorsports and the people within it left a lasting impact, and Jett Motorsports will honor his memory by running the No. 16—his baseball number. In addition, the hood will feature a meaningful tribute to celebrate Jeff’s life and legacy.

“Jeff meant a lot to so many of us, and we’re proud to honor him in this way,” noted [Pat] Jett. “His spirit will ride with us as we compete this weekend.”

The 57th Annual Snowball Derby promises an exciting weekend of racing action and high emotion as drivers and teams compete for the most prestigious title in short-track racing. Fans can follow the action all weekend long on FloRacing. Events kick off with the popular ‘Welcome Party’ at Hooters Pensacola Beach on Tuesday night. Haulers will enter the famed track Wednesday morning as teams unload and roll through tech ahead of Thursday’s on track action.
