The Frickin’ Chicken Flies the Road Warrior Coup; Frazier to take on Lenny’s Flying Tigers in 2025
The Frickin' Chicken, East Montpelier's Brodie Frazier is moving up from Thunder Road's novice Road Warrior division to take on the Lenny's Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers for a Rookie Title run in 2025
As the Thunder Road office is flooded with new registrations from Vermont’s bravest stock car racers, a recent addition has caught the attention of many. East Montpelier’s Brodie Frazier, the beloved ‘Frickin Chicken’ of the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors, is flying the coup in 2025 to join the iconic Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers for a run at the Rookie of the Year honors in Thunder Road’s longest running division!
The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers began back in 1963 as Thunder Road’s original support division beside the Flathead Coupes before earning their iconic fighter squadron moniker in 1965. After being tabled during the tumultuous 1970s, Ken Squier and Tom Curley brought back the Flying Tigers to re-establish Thunder Road in 1982 and they’ve been the ‘#1 Support Division in North America’ ever since!
Brodie Frazier got his first win in the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors this summer during the Jack Daniels Ready to Drink Cocktails Sunday Special on July 7, later earning a second win in the rain-delayed EastRise Credit Union Labor Day feature on September 6. Three other podium finishes made it a great season for sure, leading Frazier to purchase a Flying Tiger from Trevor Jaques, once a Jason Woodard-owned racer.
“We want to make every race,” said Frazier. “My goal is to keep up with the pack and try to get Rookie of the Year but if the car drives into the trailer at the end of the night that’s a win.” When asked if he’s more excited than nervous he mentioned, “I don’t know if I’d say I’m nervous, more curious to see how it all plays out but excited overall.”
The most important question was also asked; Will the ‘Frickin Chicken’ also make the jump to the Tiger ranks? “Definitely,” said Frazier without hesitation. “It’ll be a little different look than the Warrior Chicken but hopefully the fans will love it. The Chicken will still ride on the Creative Visions Monte Carlo!”
Frazier will get his first taste of the highbanks alongside his Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger competitors during the open practice sessions on Saturday, May 3 following the annual Car Show at Thunder Road. The season kicks off the following day, May 4, with the 27th annual Community Bank, n.a. 150 for the American-Canadian Tour and the start of track championship racing for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and the non-point Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors!
