While the NASCAR Cup Series had an off weekend for Easter, the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returned to Rockingham Speedway on Friday and Saturday. Ryan Sieg earned the Xfinity Fastest Lap Award in the North Carolina Education Lottery 250, while Corey Heim earned the award for the Black's Tire 200.
Corey Heim set the fastest lap of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event on Friday, with a lap of 22.912 seconds. Heim set the fast time on lap 127, while he was leading the race. The Georgia driver ultimately finished eighth, pitting from the lead on lap 171 while Tyler Ankrum stretched his fuel mileage for the win.
This is the second time Heim has earned the Xfinity Fastest Lap award this season. He previously won the award during the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Martinsville Speedway in March. He currently leads the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings by 22 points over Chandler Smith.
In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Jesse Love was originally credited with the Xfinity Fastest Lap. However, his post-race disqualification led to the Xfinity Fastest Lap award also changing hands, with Ryan Sieg now being credited with the award.
Sieg's lap of 23.390 seconds earned him the Xfinity Fastest Lap award on Saturday. He is the ninth different driver to earn the Xfinity Fastest Lap Award in 10 Xfinity Series races in 2025.
Sieg is ninth in Xfinity Series standings following Saturday's race at Rockingham. Justin Allgaier leads the championship standings by 87 points over Sam Mayer.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series will be in action this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. The Xfinity Series Ag-Pro 300 is Saturday, April 26 at 4 p.m. ET, with the NASCAR Cup Series Jack Link's 500 at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 27.
