Ty Gibbs Secures All-Star Open Pole with Assist from Mother Nature

Austin Dillon and Richard Childress Racing were brutally close to winning the pole for Sunday's NASCAR All-Star Open at North Wilkesboro Speedway until the precipitation came into frame.
With only 19 of the 20 drivers able to make a full-speed qualifying lap with proper track conditions, when the inclement weather forced NASCAR to cancel the session, the results reverted to the rule book (driver points).
Thus, Ty Gibbs, the driver most impacted by the rain that dampened the track surface, will start in the lead, with Alex Bowman, Chase Briscoe, Bubba Wallace, and Noah Gragson rounding out the top five.
