Shake and Bake: Stewart-Haas Racing Channeling Talladega Nights This Weekend
Sep 25, 2023
The latest domino in the NASCAR Cup Series silly season has fallen, as Ryan Preece announced on Tuesday afternoon that he will return to Stewart-Haas Racing for the 2024 season.
“I’m going to be here with the No. 41 and Stewart-Haas Racing next year,” Preece stated on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s Sirius Speedway. “Definitely looking forward to it, and we’ve made a lot of gains.”
With Preece announcing that he is back for the 2024 campaign, only one seat at Stewart-Haas Racing remains to be announced — the No. 10 entry.
Josh Berry was announced as the successor to Kevin Harvick in the No. 4 Ford Mustang, while Chase Briscoe will return to the No. 14 entry next season.
The 32-year-old Preece moved to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2023, and while he has had a trying season, the driver and his team have started to see results improve down the stretch.
Preece scored the best finish of his season with a fifth-place result at Richmond, nine races ago.
The Connecticut native also came home with a 12th-place finish at Bristol a couple of weeks ago.
Preece will now head to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend with a Ricky Bobby-inspired Wonder Bread paint scheme. Preece, who has been strong at Superspeedways this season, but hasn’t had luck on his side, will look to see a reversal of fortunes.
Who knows, the driver could park the car in victory lane this weekend. If he could, it would mark the first NASCAR Cup Series win of his career.
