Rain washed out NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying Saturday at Auto Club Speedway, which means the first laps on track for drivers and teams on the 2-mile speedway in Fontana, California will come when the green flag flies in Sunday's Pala Casino 400.
Joe Gibbs Racing's Christopher Bell will start from the top spot in the field as the starting lineup was set by the Metric Formula. By way of having the lowest metric score (factors in finishing position, driver points position, owner points position, best lap etc.), Bell will roll from the top spot in the No. 20 SiriusXM Toyota Camry.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s great week continues as the Daytona 500 champion will start alongside Bell in the second position. The JTG Daugherty Racing driver captured an unexpected triumph in the season-opening race, and could be primed for a sustained stretch of good runs to start the 2023 season.
