Last season, the NASCAR Rule Book prevented drivers from running both Chicago Street Course events. That rule was eliminated for the 2024 season.

Among those that will run double-duty this weekend is two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, and last weekend's NASCAR Cup Series race winner Joey Logano. Logano, who is a full-time NASCAR Cup Series competitor driving the No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Team Penske Ford Mustang Dark Horse, will also compete in the No. 15 AM Racing Ford Mustang in place of Hailie Deegan, who has run the opening 17 races of the season in that car. Am Racing made the announcement on Monday afternoon just before the entry lists went public.

AM Racing made the move in an effort to gain technical feedback from Logano in hopes that it will help them gain a competitive advantage, form where they stand currently, in the second half of the season.

It's a win for AM Racing, and it's a win for Logano as well as Logano will get to tackle additional laps around the Street Course prior to Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series event.

“Racing in the rain on Chicago’s Street Course last year was a challenge within itself. Any extra seat time is always a positive for unique tracks such as this one," Logano said. "Driving the NASCAR Xfinity Series cars are a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to climbing behind the wheel of the No. 15 AM Racing Ford Mustang, with high hopes to wheel it to the front.”

Logano will not be the only 2024 NASCAR Cup Series race winner in the field for the NASCAR Xfinity Series The Loop 110 on Saturday. Kyle Larson, who has three victories on the season, will pilot the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro and Daniel Suarez, who won in dramatic fashion at Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this season will run the race in the No. 36 DGM Racing Chevrolet Camaro with primary sponsorship from Van Der Hagen.

Additionally, two more full-time NASCAR Cup Series competitors will compete in both events this weekend.

Ty Gibbs will slide behind the wheel of the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota GR Supra with primary sponsorship from He Gets Us, and John Hunter Nemechek, who won last week's NASCAR Xfinity Series contest in Nashville, will return to the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing machine with primary sponsorship from Jewel Osco.

While five full-time NASCAR Cup Series competitors will compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series The Loop 110 on Saturday, two full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series competitors will also compete in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Grant Park 165.

Austin Hill, who currently sits fourth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings and has two wins this year, will pilot the No. 33 "Open" entry for Richard Childress Racing in Sunday's race.

Kaulig Racing teammates in the NASCAR Xfinity Series AJ Allmendinger and Shane van Gisbergen will also compete in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series event. Allmendinger will drive Kaulig Racing's "Open" entry No. 13 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 while SVG will drive the team's Chartered No. 16 car.

The final driver, who will run double-duty this weekend at the Chicago Street Course is Josh Bilicki, a part-time racer in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Bilicki will run the No. 92 DGM Racing Chevrolet Camaro as a teammate to Daniel Suarez and Kyle Weatherman in Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race, and then he will get behind the wheel of MBM Motorsports' "Open" entry No. 66 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series tilt.
