On Wednesday morning, NASCAR officially issued its weekly penalty report, and contained on the report was a penalty for Bubba Wallace, the driver of the No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota Camry XSE, who made contact with race winner Alex Bowman on the cool-down lap following Sunday's Grant Park 165. Wallace will be fined $50,000 for his actions post-race at the Chicago Street Course.

Wallace was found to be in violation of sections 4.4.B & D of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct. No points will be deducted from Wallace for the post-race shenanigans and no further penalties will stem from the incident.

Retaining all of the points from his 13th-place finish in Sunday's Grant Park 165 is vital for Wallace, who is attempting to work his way inside the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs cutline. Wallace is 17th in the Playoff Grid, 45 points below the cutline heading into this weekend's racing action at Pocono Raceway.

It appears that NASCAR didn't find Elliott's incident with Suarez to be as egregious as Wallace's contact on Bowman.

In addition to Wallace, NASCAR issued an indefinite revocation from NASCAR for Christopher Freman on the weekly penalty report. Freman was found to be in violation of sections 4.4 D of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct.
