While Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. added another win for non-playoff drivers during this season's NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, the standings saw a huge shakeup during the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
William Byron clinched a spot in the Round of 8 with a third-place finish, the highest placement among the drivers still alive in the Playoffs. None of the Playoff contenders have won in the Round of 12, as Stenhouse's victory followed a win by Ross Chastain one week ago at Kansas Speedway.
Meanwhile, only six of the 12 current playoff drivers finished in the top 20, with many involved in a massive incident near the end of the race.
