Hendrick Motorsports will once again field its No. 17 NASCAR Xfinity Series program during the 2025 season as the legendary organization announced a 16-race schedule on Wednesday morning.
HendrickCars.com will serve as the primary sponsorship partner for the effort, and five drivers will rotate behind the wheel of the Chevrolet.
“We’re pleased to continue our sponsorship of the No. 17 team, which has driven significant traffic to HendrickCars.com and helped support the broader goals of Hendrick Automotive Group,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group. “With Adam, we have one of the sharpest young crew chiefs in the garage area leading our team. The Xfinity Series competition is tough, and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
Adam Wall, who spent time in 2024 as the crew chief for Brandon Jones and Sammy Smith at JR Motorsports, has been selected as the crew chief for the program this season. The five-driver roster will include all four of Hendrick Motorsports' NASCAR Cup Series competitors as well as the team's development driver Corey Day.
Wall is thankful for the opportunity as the Hendrick Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series crew chief, and feels he is ready to help the star-studded cast of Cup drivers, and the young rookie compete in 2025.
“Hendrick Motorsports has opened a lot of doors for me,” Wall said. “Because of the valuable experience I’ve gained, I feel very prepared for this opportunity. I’m excited about the chance to go racing with our Cup drivers and work with a young talent like Corey. Anyone who follows dirt knows he’s the real deal. We have high expectations as a team and look forward to a great year.”
The No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series entry will make its season debut at Circuit of the Americas on March 1 with two-time Daytona 500 winner William Byron at the helm of the machine.
Day, a dirt racing prodigy looking to transition into being a stock car star will compete in 10 of the team's 16 scheduled events this season. The 19-year-old signed as a development driver for Hendrick Motorsports in December and will compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Spire Motorsports as part of the deal as well.
