As AJ Allmendinger transitions to a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series and part-time NASCAR Cup Series schedule for Kaulig Racing in 2024, the driver and team will have a familiar partner battling with them.
CELSIUS Essential Energy will return as a primary sponsorship partner for the driver and team in multiple events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series this season, including the Daytona 500.
Allmendinger, who visited Victory Lane twice in 2023 with the colors of CELSIUS on his race cars, is pumped to continue the partnership for another season.
“I’m excited about our continued partnership with CELSIUS,” said Allmendinger. “To see the growth of CELSIUS, even since I joined the team in 2019, has been really special. CELSIUS is the go-to energy drink for my team and I, and it was definitely fun to have it as part of our victory lane celebrations last season. We’re going to have a fun season as this brand continues to grow, and I look forward to representing them on and off the track.”
The team also announced that CELSIUS will remain the Official Energy Drink Partner of Kaulig Racing, which echoes the fact that the partner is an important part of how the team prepares for a race weekend.
“CELSIUS has always been important to everyone at Kaulig Racing,” said team president, Chris Rice. “We encourage all our employees to take time for their health and fitness, and having a long-time partner that not only encourages the same, but aids our employees in doing so, is awesome. It means a lot to us to continue this partnership as we go into our ninth season with CELSIUS.”
Allmendinger scored an emotional win, possibly the most emotional win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, in the No. 16 CELSIUS Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL in October.
The win, the third of Allmendinger's NASCAR Cup Series career, meant a lot to the driver, as he explained he wasn't sure if he'd ever score another win in the NASCAR Cup Series.
He did. And now, he'll look to do it again in a part-time schedule this season.
While Allmendinger is hopeful about his NASCAR Cup Series prospects this season, he is expected to be one of the top contenders for the NASCAR Xfinity Series title in 2024.
Allmendinger has 17-career wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and in two-consecutive full-time seasons with Kaulig Racing in 2021 and 2022, Allmendinger won 10 races and scored the regular season championship in both years.
The driver would come up just short of the championship, finishing fourth in the championship standings in 2021 and fifth in 2022.
The California native will look to finish some unfinished business in 2024.
