Three Big Days of Racing On Tap at Thompson World Series

The 61st World Series of Speedway Racing is scheduled for October 6-8 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

This weekend is a busy one at Thompson Speedway Motorsporst Park, with the 61st Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing taking place on October 6-8. A total of 15 divisions of racing will take the track over the course of three days.

The racing gets underway on Friday, October 6, with seven divisions on the docket. Heat racing begins at 5 p.m., with Mighty Minis, R&R Street Stocks, Late Models, Sunoco Modifeids and the Modified Racing Series using heat races to set their lineups. All of those divisions will also have feature races, along with the STAR Vintage Modifeds and Late Models.

The Modified Racing Series has the feature attraction on Friday’s card, with a 50-lap race to close out the evening.

Saturday sees another busy day of racing, with the first green flag for heat races dropping at 2:15 p.m. Saturday’s program includes Thompson’s Outlaw Open Modified Series for a 100-lap main event, as well as the New England Supermodified Series. Thompson’s Open Street Stocks, Sunoco Modifieds, Pro 4 Mods, and Limited Sportsmen will also be on track.

On Sunday, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour takes the track for 150 laps to close out the World Series. They will be joined by the NEMA Midget, Pro Trucks, SK Light Modifieds, Sunoco Modifieds and Mini Stocks.

General admission is $25 on Friday, $35 on Saturday and $45 on Sunday for fans attending the event. There are also discounted tickets available for children aged 6-12 each day, and admission is free for children five years of age and younger, as well as two and three-day ticket bundles.

Fans unable to attend the event will be able to watch racing from all three days of the Thompson World Series on Racing America. Due to broadcast rights restrictions, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event is not included in the Racing America broadcast.
