Headlined by the Outlaw Open Modified Series Dash for Cash, Friday includes Late Models, the Evolve Bank & Trust Pro Truck Series, Sunoco Modifieds, the R&R Race Parts NH Street Stock Open and a three-peat of vintage racing stars.
The 85th season of racing at Thompson Speedway is set to close out for the 62nd time with the action-packed Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing starting with the exciting Friday opener. Headlined by the return of the Outlaw Open Modified Series Dash for Cash, Friday also includes the conclusion of the 2024 track championship for the Thompson Late Models, the Evolve Bank & Trust Pro Truck Series, Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, the R&R Race Parts NH Street Stock Open and a three-peat of vintage racing stars to round out the weekend opener!
Among the top dogs looking to hunt down Friday’s $5,000 win in the 50-lap Dash for Cash include longtime campaigner and multi-time track champion Woody Pitkat, former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Jon McKennedy, young up-and-comer Brett Meservey and the King of the Outlaw Open Modifieds Ronnie Williams, among a host of others! Williams has more wins in the Outlaw Open Modifieds than any other driver since the division's inception in 2021 and looks to add another $5,000 check to his collection ahead of a busy Tour-type Modified weekend of racing during the Sunoco World Series.
Rehoboth’s Nick Johnson is looking to secure his third Late Model track championship at Thompson Speedway this Friday night with just twelve points separating himself and fellow former champion Brian Tagg heading into the championship race. After a hard lick with the turn one wall during September’s Back to School Bash, Derek Gluchacki found his strong title run diminished to a current third-place tally, 20 points back. The final 30-lap race of the year will certainly be a barn burner with many expected to make any repairs and return for the American-Canadian Tour Sunoco World Series 75 on Saturday.
The Thompson Sunoco Modifieds run their penultimate event on Friday night before crowning the division champion on Saturday. Jon Puleo continues to dominate the inaugural season for the popular division while rookie Isaiah Newcomb and longtime veterans Todd Owen and Keith Rocco are expected to try and knock Puleo off the pedestal in Friday’s 30 lap sprint.
The Evolve Bank & Trust Pro Truck Series makes the first of two Sunoco World Series appearances on Friday before returning to join Sunday’s showcase while the Senior Tour Auto Racers (STAR) and the Vintage Open Modifieds return to Thompson Speedway on Sunoco World Series Friday!
Thompson Speedway closes out the 2024 season with the 62nd Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing starting on Friday, October 11 through Sunday, October 13.
