Strong Field of ISMA-MSS Supermodifieds Expected for North-South Shootout at Caraway

The North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway has plenty of history, but this year's edition of the event marks the return of Supermodifieds to the race and the first time the cars have visited the Sophia, North Carolina facility. The ISMA-MSS Supermodified Series unveiled a roster of expected entries with 22 teams for the return of the Supermodifieds to North Carolina.

Among the entries are some of the best in Supermodified racing. Otto Sitterly, who was recently crowned as a three-time ISMA Supermodified champion is entered, along with fellow ISMA champions Mike McVetta, Mike Lichty, Kyle Edwards, Jonathan McKennedy, D.J. Shullick and Ben Seitz.

A familiar name to racing fans who aren't as well-versed in the Supermodified world is also part of the field. Johnny Benson, Jr., the former NASCAR Cup Series race winner and champion in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has been a routine competitor in the ISMA Supermodifieds since stepping away from NASCAR. He is also on the list of planned entries for the North-South Shootout.

The ISMA-MSS Supermodifieds will qualify and heat race on Friday, November 8 before their feature race on Saturday, November 9. The Supermodified feature is scheduled for 60 laps on Saturday.

They will be joined on Saturday by the long-running tradition of the Tour-Type Modifieds headlining the North-South Shootout, competing for 125 laps. 602 Modifieds and BGS Sportsman will also take the track on Saturday.
