New Faces Arriving for Monday's Super Late Model Feature at New Smyrna
Feb 13, 2023
If qualifying on Monday night at New Smyrna Speedway is any indication, Ron Silk will have a very good chance to pick up where he left off Saturday night.
Silk, the winner of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season opener on Saturday at New Smyrna, set fast time in qualifying for the Tour-type Modifieds as they begin their World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing points chase Monday night.
Silk clocked in at 17.453 seconds, ahead of Eric Goodale and Tom Martino, Jr. Patrick Emerling will start on the pole after qualifying fourth thanks to a four-car invert.
For the Super Late Models, Casey Roderick set fast time with a lap of 17.750 seconds. He was also quickest in qualifying on Sunday for the Super Late Models, racing from sixth to second following the invert. He will once again start sixth due to another six-car invert on Monday night. William Sawalich will start on the pole, looking for another win after taking Sunday's checkered flag.
The Super Late Models will start Monday's feature racing. 602 Modifieds will be next, followed by the 50-lap Tour-type Modified feature. Pro Late Models and Florida Modifieds will conclude the night's racing.
