After three weeks off, Thursday Night Thunder returns to Thompson Speedway for the final time before making the switch to Wednesday night racing in 2024 this Thursday, July 25 with the Twisted Tea Midsummer 50! The Thompson Sunoco Modifieds return to take on the Mighty Big-T for their second $3,000 to win, 50 lap showdown of the year along with action courtesy of the Late Models, AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks!

Mechanical problems in the first 50-lapper of the season for the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds dissolved Jon Puleo’s point lead down to just nine points ahead of Danny Cates in the overall standings last time out. Puleo will be looking to return to his winning ways in the debut season of the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds this Thursday with the Twisted Tea Midsummer 50 on tap for the premier track championship division while Cates, Josh Carey and rookie Isaiah Newcomb, among others look to break into Thompson victory lane.

As with the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, the Late Models had quite the shake-up last time out as defending champion Nick Johnson had a less-than-stellar showing, giving point leader Ryan Morgan some extra room at the top of the charts going into Thursday’s Twisted Tea program. The competitive division has seen three different winners this season while rookie Kyle Gero, former champion Brian Tagg and Emma Monahan look to join Morgan, Johnson and Derek Gluchacki as 2024 Late Model victors on the Thompson highbanks!

With the added benefit of his first victory of the season last time out, Jason Chicolas stands atop the Street Stock standings and looks to continue his stance above Icebreaker champion Al Stone III. The fan-favorite Street Stock division will be back to rocket around the 5/8-mile Thompson Speedway this Thursday in pursuit of the Twisted Tea victory and the added Eden Raffery bonus money for first, second and ‘Lucky Seventh’-place finishers!

Both the AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds and the Mini Stocks have been absolutely dominated by one lone driver in each division so far this season. Ellington’s Tyler Chapman has made his way to the front of all three SK Light feature events so far this season while defending champion Jarred Roy has made sure all the Mini Stocks have stayed in his rear-view mirror this summer. Be prepared for Thursday as both Chapman and Roy’s competition is sure to have thrown the kitchen sink at their machines to break the streaks this Thursday!

Thursday Night Thunder is back for the third and final time in 2024 on Thursday, July 25 headlined by the $3,000-to-win, Twisted Tea Midsummer 50 for the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds! Along with the Thompson Sunoco Modified 50-lapper, the Late Models, AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks are back in action on Thursday, July 25 with a 6:00pm Post Time! Adult General Admission is set at $25 with kids 12-6 for $10 and children 5 and under free!
