Looking to complete a sweep of the Tour-type Modified division at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway, Matt Hirschman set fast time in qualifying for the Richie Evans Memorial.
Hirschman clocked in at 17.545 seconds around the half-mile, placing ahead of Tyler Rypkema and Ronnie Williams. Hirschman has won the first four races of the World Series for the Tour-type Modifieds, and hopes to become the first driver in World Series history to sweep the Tour-type Modified division.
Carson Brown was quickest in Pro Late Model qualifying for the Hart to Heart 100. Thursday night winner Katie Hettinger was second, followed by Ryan Luza, Hunter Wright and Conner Jones. With a five-car invert, Jones will start on the pole as he looks to wrap up the Pro Late Model championship at the World Series.
Along with the 100-lap races for the Modifieds and Pro Late Models, Friday's racing includes a 25-lap Pro Truck feature, a 20-lap Super Stock feature, a 20-lap Bomber B feature and a 20-lap event for Vintage Cars.
