Matt Kenseth Returning to Slinger Nationals
Mar 15, 2022
The star power continues to grow for this year’s Slinger Nationals in July.
NASCAR Cup Series driver William Byron has entered the 43rd Annual WABAM Slinger Nationals with Cobblestone Hotels and PepperJack Kennels on July 12 at Slinger Speedway.
The Slinger Nationals is one of the most prestigious events in Wisconsin short track racing. Past Slinger Nationals champions include Alan Kulwicki, Dick Trickle, Mark Martin, Rich Bickle, Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch.
“Slinger Nationals is one of the historic Midwest late model races that teams circle on the calendar each year,” said Byron. “This will be my first time there and I’m excited to run it with our (Donnie) Wilson Motorsports team. The fans in Wisconsin are very passionate about their short-track racing. I had a lot of fun running a couple Midwest Tour races up there last summer.”
The trip to Wisconsin will be part of a busy and successful 2022 season for Byron. Along with two wins thus far in the NASCAR Cup Series driving for Hendrick Motorsports, Byron has four Super Late Model wins this year. Most recently, Byron scored the victory in the North-South Super Late Model Challenge at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in May.
Byron will also be attending the VIP hospitality tent where he will sign autographs for fans alongside Matt Kenseth and other Slinger Nationals competitors.
VIP Hospitality tickets will allow fans the opportunity to meet, get one item autographed and attend a Q&A session with Byron, Kenseth and other Nationals Stars. A pit pass, food, drink and general admission ticket to the race will be included with the VIP Ticket. This is a rain or shine event.

While we encourage everyone to make plans to attend the 43rd Slinger Nationals, fans unable to make the trip to this year’s event will be able to watch live on Racing America.
