Bubba Pollard Traveling to Washington for Wenatchee 200 in June
Apr 12, 2024
The $25,000-to-win Wenatchee 200 presented by Plumb Perfect is drawing more than just the top Super Late Model competitors from the Northwestern United States.
The countdown is on for the Wenatchee 200 at Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, where a $25,000 winner's payday has attracted Super Late Model competitors from both coasts to the East Wenatchee, Washington facility on May 31-June 1.
The Wenatchee 200 presented by Plumb Perfect currently features an entry list of more than 20 competitors challenging for the $25,000 grand prize. Some of the top Northwest pilots are already entered for the event, such as Kasey Kleyn, Hayden Plybon, Jan Evans, Evan Goetz and many more. Kole Raz won last year's event, and he is entered looking for another big payday.
However, the big payday has also drawn fast cars from outside the Northwestern United States in recent years, and that trend continues in 2024. Jacob Gomes, one of California's top Super Late Model competitors, is making the trip north.
This year's Wenatchee 200 is also bringing in several racers from the Southeast for the cross-country challenge. Most notably, Bubba Pollard has been announced as an entry, partnering with Evans Racing Enterprises.new
Florida's Michael Atwell is also making the trip. Meanwhile, the event will be a homecoming of sorts for Tyler Tanner. While Tanner now calls Mooresville, North Carolina home and currently competes most frequently with the zMAX CARS Pro Late Model Tour, he originally hails from Auburn, Washington.
The fully entry list can be viewed below.
Friday, May 31 will be a practice day for the event for both Super Late Models and Legend Cars, with a kick-off party and qualifying draw to follow at 7:30 p.m. PT.
Fan gates will open at 4 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 1, with qualifying at 4:15 p.m. Racing begins at 5:30 p.m. PT, with the Wenatchee 200 aiming to take the green flag at 7:30 p.m. PT. Thunder Cars join Legend Cars and the Super Late Models on the Saturday racing program.
