Jun 8, 2024
UARA National rolls into Berlin Raceway on Wednesday, June 12 for Money in the Bank presented by Baker Auto Group. This year's event features a pair of NASCAR Cup Series stars from the state of Michigan, Erik Jones and Carson Hocevar, racing against the Super Late Model standouts.
Fans can watch the action live on RacingAmerica.TV, your home for the UARA National and UARA Sportsman Series.
Money in the Bank marks the second race of the UARA National season. Bubba Pollard won the season-opening Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway in March.
The full schedule for both the UARA National Series and the UARA Sportsman Series will be available for RacingAmerica.TV subscribers. As such, marquee upcoming Super Late Model events such as the Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway, the Motor Mountain Masters 150 at Jennerstown Speedway and the Bill Bigley, Sr. Memorial 128 at Freedom Factory will all be available to RacingAmerica.TV subscribers.
All you need to watch Wednesday night is a RacingAmerica.TV subscription. You'll also gain access to more than 200 live short track events across the country, as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes NASCAR Cup Series content.
More than 30 teams are entered for the $15,000-to-win Super Late Model event. Among them are NASCAR Cup Series competitors Erik Jones and Carson Hocevar, who both cut their teeth at the Michigan short track.
They'll be going against top Super Late Model racers from across the country. Entries filed include Bubba Pollard, Derek Griffith, Kyle Crump, Blake Rowe and much more. There will also be Berlin's stout field of local Super Late Model competitors, with two-time Money in the Bank winner Brian Campbell and current track points leader Andrew Scheid among the favorites from that group.
Berlin Raceway, located in Marne, Michigan, boasts a reputation as a demanding short track that has developed several of the sport's great drivers. The facility opened in 1951, then paved into its current 7/16-mile configuration in 1966. Its short straightaways, sweeping corners and lack of a backstretch wall have challenged competitors ever since.
Johnny Benson, Jr., who won championships in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series during his career, is inducted into Berlin's Hall of Fame, along with nationally-recognized short track standouts such as Bob Senneker and Butch Miller.
Money in the Bank is a relatively new event in the short track landscape, but quickly rose to prominence as a mid-week event that offers a sizable payday for Pavement Super Late Model competitors. Bubba Pollard won the inaugural Money in the Bank in 2017, followed by back-to-back wins for Brian Campbell.
Carson Hocevar, at the time climbing the racing ladder, won the event in 2020 and 2021. Hocevar scored his first Late Model wins at age 12 in 2015 at Berlin, and also won the track's Super Late Model championship in 2017.
The mid-week date for Money in the Bank often draws full-time NASCAR drivers with a passion for Late Model racing. William Byron and Erik Jones won the last two editions of Money in the Bank, so the local contingent of Berlin racers will be eager to keep the trophy on home turf this year.
