Sylas Ripley added his name to the Oxford Plains Speedway record books on Saturday, leading flag-to-flag for his first career Super Late Model win.

The 14-year-old led all 50 laps for the Oxford Championship Series Super Late Model feature, holding off Tim Brackett in the closing laps for the win.

“It’s incredible. I’d like to thank my mom, dad, Ryan, Kyle, Graham, Grant, Wayne, everyone that came to support and help," said Ripley. "It’s just incredible. It’s my first full-size car win.

“It’s incredible to get to race at this level, race the people I race with. I’d like to thank Tim for racing me clean at the end.”

This adds to an already exciting month of July for the third-generation driver from Maine. Earlier this month, Ripley joined Team Hornaday Development, partnering with Ron Hornaday, Jr.

Tim Brackett finished second, continuing a strong run of finishes since his win with the Pro All Stars Series at Oxford Plains in June. However, he was not happy with the balance of his car during Saturday's race.

“It doesn’t like two tires,” said Brackett. “Four tires, we were pretty lights out in practice. Two tires, it doesn’t like it. I think we know what direction to go in now, but we ain’t there yet.”

Kyle Salemi bounced back from a heartbreaking Celebration of America 300 that saw his No. 63 heavily damaged during Tuesday night's qualifiers by finishing third on Saturday.

“I just want to start by saying thank you to RSB Chassis for making such an amazing race car," said Salemi. "After last week, they worked so hard to get us back here. Picking this thing up last night and being able to come out here and run like we did, I’m so thankful."

The Oxford Championship Series will be back in action next Saturday, July 20. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET.
