The 2026 edition of the Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway will be a special one, and fans have a chance to play a memorable part in the event.
South Alabama Speedway has announced a contest to design the logo for the 50th Rattler Weekend, celebrating the golden running of the event.
"Race fans across the world have an opportunity to be a part of the golden anniversary of one short track racing’s crown jewel events," reads the track's announcement. "In preparation for the 50th Annual Rattler Weekend in 2026, South Alabama Speedway is holding a contest to allow fans to create the logo for the event. The logo will be featured on all event promotions, souvenirs, merchandise and more."
The designer of the winning logo will win a $500 cash prize, receive a VIP credential to the 2026 Rattler Weekend, and be recognized during pre-race ceremonies.
“We are working hard to make the 50th Rattler the biggest and best ever," said South Alabama Speedway track owner John Dykes. "Having the fans be a part of our logo design makes this event even more special. Our staff is already working on a variety of different ideas to improve the weekend on the fan and competitor side, and we can’t wait to announce those over the next few months.”

Michael Atwell won the 49th Rattler 250, leading 249 of the race's 250 laps in a dominant, record-setting performance.
The 50th Rattler 250 will be run in the spring of 2026, and sanctioned by the UARA National Super Late Model Series. More information will be announced in the coming weeks regarding the 50th Rattler Weekend.
