JACKSONVILLE, NC – Goodyear All American Speedway has made the decision to move the $20,000-to-win Solid Rock Carriers Battle of the Stars to Saturday, March 4, 2023.
The race, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 13, 2022, falls a week before the South Carolina 400 and two weeks before the Thanksgiving Classic. However, Hickory Motor Speedway’s decision to move the Fall Brawl to November 12 resulted in several drivers who had previously committed to running the event backing out.
“At this moment, we only have 12 drivers entered for the Battle of the Stars,” track operator Anthony Goodyear said. “We have drivers telling us they aren’t running because of the Fall Brawl moving to November 12, or because they’re focusing on getting ready for the South Carolina 400 and Thanksgiving Classic. With all that in mind, we decided to move our race and not force our racers to have to pick and choose and this will give our fans a better show. We’ll come back in the spring with an even bigger Battle of the Stars.”
While the Battle of the Stars is being postponed, the Atlantic Turfscapes Super Truck Series finale, which was set to take place on Saturday, November 12, will still be held on its scheduled date along with Bandoleros, Bombers, Champ Karts, Jr. Mini Cups, Legends, and Mini Cups. The event will be dubbed the Pumpkin Pie 245, featuring twin races for the Super Truck and Bomber divisions. The green flag will wave at 2pm for the race.
“We had a lot of fun this past weekend with our Halloween race and we’re going to keep that going on November 12 with our local classes,” Goodyear continued. “We’ve also committed to running the finale for the Atlantic Turfscapes Super Truck Series and will see it through. It will be a fun day to close the season.”
The Pumpkin Pie 245 will be the final event of the 2022 season at Goodyear All American Speedway.
