Ross Chastain, Daniel Suarez Entering May 17 CARS Tour Event at North Wilkesboro
The Trackhouse Racing teammates will each compete in the CARS Tour event at North Wilkesboro, as the duo prepare for the NASCAR All-Star Race at the 0.625-mile facility.
If you're looking forward to the revival of North Wilkesboro Speedway later this month, then the stacked field for the May 17 CARS Late Model Tour event at North Wilkesboro Speedway should probably excite you.
Now, you can add a pair of notable names to the entry list for the historic mid-week event, as Trackhouse Racing drivers Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez will each contest the event at the 0.625-mile facility.
Chastain, the points leader in the NASCAR Cup Series, will join forces with Pinnacle Racing Group to pilot the No. 28 Ambetter Health Chevrolet Camaro.
"They are paying one-million dollars and giving out a beautiful trophy to win that race so we are going to do everything we have to do to prepare for that night," said the two-time NASCAR Cup Series winner.
Ambetter Health, a health insurance offering available on the Health Insurance Marketplace, or exchange, established by the Affordable Care Act., provided by Centene Corporation, a leading healthcare enterprise.
The company serves as a primary sponsor of Zane Smith in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, as well as an entitlement sponsor of the Cup Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Meanwhile, Suarez, despite being a teammate to Chastain in the Cup Series, won't be a teammate in the May 17 event, driving the No. 99 Jockey Chevrolet for R and S Race Cars, a full-service race car facility, in South Boston, Virginia.
“I have never been to North Wilkesboro nor really spent much time driving a late model,” said Suárez. “Every little bit helps. Plus, it is going to be a lot of fun going short track racing. Getting familiar with the track will help our program a lot.”
Jockey, a proud sponsor of both Chastain and Suarez in the NASCAR Cup Series, will adorn the No. 99, in a paint scheme similar to that of his entry for Trackhouse Racing at NASCAR's top-level.
Both Chastain and Suarez have entered the CARS Tour event in order to gain experience for the NASCAR All-Star Race, which will take place at the same facility just a couple of days afterwards.
Suarez will also compete in the ASA STARS National Tour event on Tuesday, in an attempt to get even more experience, in hopes of collecting that check for one million dollars.
