Regional Drivers Look to Make Vermont Milk Bowl History at Thunder Road

The American-Canadian Tour heads to Vermont’s Thunder Road for the 62nd Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank on October 5 and 6. Although a non-point event for the international touring series, the Vermont Milk Bowl is an ACT 100%er Event, meaning it counts towards the full 2024 schedule for the end-of-year point fund. An entry list that nears 50 teams from across New England and Quebec, the Vermont Milk Bowl is set to be a showcase of stars with the ultimate goal of making history at the finish line.

The three segment, cumulatively scored event has been labeled the Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America, and for good reason. The first 50-lap segment is set up through a combination of Time Trial and ‘Triple 50’ heat race qualifiers on Booth Bros./Hood Qualifying Day on Saturday and is arguably the easiest of the three segments. Segment #2 and Segment #3 are lined-up by inverting the finish of the previous segment with the winner starting dead-last. With the Vermont Milk Bowl winner determined by the lowest combined score in each segment, it’s a race to the front in each of the three 50-lap sprints, guaranteeing action throughout the day on Sunday.

Of the currently forty-nine car entry list, the entire top-10 of the American-Canadian Tour point standings are prepared to make a statement. Gabe Brown leads DJ Shaw, leading rookie Kasey Beattie, Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif and Derek Gluchacki into Thunder Road with Erick Sands, Jesse Switser, Kaiden Fisher, Cam Huntress and Jeremy Sorel also joining in. Bryan Wall, Jr., Canadians Remi Perreault, Jonathan Bouvrette and Claude Leclerc along with Massachusetts’ Cole Littlewood are also set to represent the international touring series.

Serie ACT Quebec sends down two-time and defending champion Raphael Lessard in the iconic Larue Motorsports #48QC while former American-Canadian Tour champion, and multi-time Milk Bowl victor, Patrick Laperle will also make the cross-border jaunt to Thunder Road. Joining Laperle are fellow former ACT and Milk Bowl champion Brian Hoar and 2020 ACT champion Jimmy Hebert.

Thunder Road’s mighty weekly masters are led by 2024 King of the Road track champion Kaiden Fisher and include former Milk Bowl champions Stephen Donahue, Chris Pelkey and Jason Corliss along with 2024 Late Model winners Cody Blake, Stephen Martin, Darrell Morin, Justin Prescott and Chris Roberts. Rookie of the Year Jesse Laquerre and fellow freshman Taylor Hoar are also joining the vast home-grown contingent.

White Mountain Motorsports Park King of the Mountain track champion Tanner Woodard and fellow weekly competitors Colin Cornell and Jaden Perry are set to take on the Barre highbanks again this weekend joined by Flying Tiger division champion at both, Brandon Gray, behind the wheel of the Nathan Kelly-owned machine. Riverside Speedway standout Jamie Swallow, Jr. returns to Thunder Road this weekend, as does former Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and Oxford Plains Speedway track champion Dave Farrington, Jr.

The American-Canadian Tour returns to action on Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6 for the 62nd running of the Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, Vermont. The ‘Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America’ starts with Booth Bros./Hood Qualifying Day on Saturday, October 5 that also features the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds and the New England Supermodified Series! Sunday, October 6 is headlined by the 62nd Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank with some of New England and Quebec’s greatest drivers looking to kiss the Milk Bowl Queen and share in the $104,000 purse!

Single day general admission is available on both Saturday and Sunday at $35 for adults and $10 for kids 12-6 while the two-day, weekend ticket is also available at $60 for adults and $20 for kids 12-6. As always, all children five and under are free!
