Star Power Headed to South Alabama for Rattler 250
Mar 8, 2022
The Saturday portion of the 46th Rattler Weekend will be adjusted slightly in an effort to accommodate fans and teams.
The racing action will be shifted up to the afternoon to avoid the sharply colder temperatures forecasted for Saturday night.
The first green flag of the day will fly at 2 p.m. for the The Grasshopper 125 presented by JR’s Lawn Mower Shop and powered by U.S. Tank. Modifieds will run immediately following the conclusion of the first race. South Alabama Speedway’s Roadrunners will close the racing action on Saturday.
“We want to run the Saturday events this weekend,” said John Dykes, owner of South Alabama Speedway. “We know a lot of drivers, teams and fans have made plans to be here this weekend, and we want them to have an opportunity to race. We can’t control the weather, and feel this is the best solution for all involved.”
Pit gates will open at 7 a.m. Saturday, with late model practicing beginning at 8:30 a.m. Modifieds will have a brief practice from 9:30 - 9:45 a.m. Time trials for Sunday’s Rattler 250 will begin at noon, with Pro Late Model qualifying following immediately after. Following a local practice for Roadrunners and Modifieds, the green will fly at 2 p.m.
Grandstands open at 10:30 a.m.
Tickets for all three days of the 46th Rattler Weekend can be purchased at the gate.
