The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Pro Late Model Challenge Series features a Gulf Coast doubleheader this weekend, with races at Five Flags Speedway and Mobile International Speedway. A $1,000 bonus will be on the line for the driver with the best average finish across the two events.
Teams will start the weekend with the third round of the Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series on Friday, August 23 at Five Flags Speedway. Along with being part of the Rogers-Dabbs doubleheader, it will also be a key stop on the Road to the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 scheduled for December 7.
On Saturday, August 24, the Rogers-Dabbs Pro Late Model Challenge makes the short trip west to Mobile International Speedway for the Lee Fields Memorial. This event marks the season finale for racing at Mobile International Speedway. There are also plenty of incentives for drivers to head west on Interstate 10 for the event.
Courtesy of Crane Works, a $7,000 payday will be up for grabs for the winner of the 100-lap Pro Late Model feature. There are also several bonus opportunities up for grabs in the event, such as $1,000 halfway leader and pole award bonuses offered by Gulf Coast Graphix as well as a Hard Charger Award offered by Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts.
Those offerings, along with the $1,000 bonus for the best average finish across the two races, could potentially mean a lucrative night for the winner at Mobile International Speedway on Saturday night.
Currently, 25 cars are entered for the first race of the doubleheader at Five Flags Speedway. Notables on the entry list include Allen Turner Pro Late Model points leader Seth Christensen, Mobile Pro Late Model points leader Grant Thompson, defending Allen Turner champion and Rogers-Dabbs Performance PLM Challenge front-runner John Bolen, as well as Late Model standouts such as Casey Roderick, Jake Finch, Jett Noland and more.
Grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. CT on Friday night at Five Flags Speedway. The Modifieds of Mayhem Tour, Gulf Real Estate Group Pro Trucks and Story & Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks will also be part of the racing program, with the first green flag waving at 8 p.m. CT.
Seven divisions will be in action on Saturday night at Mobile International Speedway. Pure Stocks, Outlaws, Sportsman, Trucks, Legacy Stocks and Crown Vics join the Pro Late Models on the card, with feature racing starting at 8 p.m. CT.
