Spokane, WA – 2022 and 2023 Kulwicki Driver Development Program finalist Haeden Plybon will be seeking his first Northwest Super Late Model Series victory at Findlay Stadium Stateline Speedway (ID) on May 20th. Plybon is the leading winner over the last two-plus seasons, with four victories, but he has yet to grab one at his home track. Plybon hopes to change that in just over a week when the series visits for the $3,000-to-win “SLS 125”.

Plybon has gotten off to a good start in 2023, finishing in the top-10 in the “Apple Cup 125” at Tri-City Raceway at RMEC (WA) and winning the “Leonard Evans Memorial 150” at the Wenatchee Valley Super-Oval (WA). Plybon was dominating in the season opener, when a lapped car spun directly in front of his Hamke Racecars Super Late Model, and he was unable to avoid contact. It was a race that just got away from the Spokane, WA racer.

He will now seek series victory #5 at a track for which he was the 2020 Pro Late Model track champion and 2019 runner-up. In two NWSLMS starts he has third and seventh-place finishes. The 2022 “Idaho 200” winner knows what it takes to win at Stateline, but it is a matter of putting it all together and saving tires until the end.

“I feel like consistency and conserving tires will be a key point in being in contention for the win at the end”, Plybon stated.

Plybon has gained a reputation for success in the Pacific Northwest. He has four NWSLMS victories to go along with eight top-five and 13 top-10’s in only 15 career series starts. He was the Tri-State Challenge Series champion in 2022, earning two Pro Late Model wins in four starts. He has six Pro Late Model wins at Stateline Speedway over his last 17 starts. He was victorious at Tri-City Raceway at RMEC in the season opening Pro Late Model event, while earning multiple Pro Late Model victories at Hermiston Raceway (OR) over the last several seasons. With his great start to 2023, and his win in the last NWSLMS event at WVSO, Plybon will be rolling into Post Falls, ID with momentum. He hopes to keep it rolling.

“I sure hope the momentum continues on this weekend”, Plybon expressed. “It'd be great to get back-to-back NWSLMS wins. But then again anything can happen, and I just have to hope we are prepared to the best we can be.”

The “SLS 125” will be Round #3 of the Northwest Super Late Model Series season. It will pay $3,000 to the winner of the 125-lap affair. Friday May 19th will open the weekend with feature events for the Impel Road Runners, Park Model Homes Fever 4, Angel’s Bail Bonds Bandoleros, and the RaceCals Pro Late Models. Saturday will find the Rayce Rudeen Legends, Angel's Bail Bonds Bandoleros, and Johnson Surveying Hobby Stocks in action with the Northwest Super Late Model Series for a full two days of racing action.

For those unable to attend, the “SLS 125” will be streamed LIVE on Racing America, with a subscription to their streaming service.
