Snowball Derby, Snowflake 100 Entry Forms Available Now
Sep 12, 2023
More than 30 competitors are entered for this weekend’s Super Late Model doubleheader at Five Flags Speedway, where champions will be crowned in both the Blizzard Series and Southern Super Series.
A total of 31 drivers have entered the races on Friday and Saturday, September 22-23 at the Pensacola, Florida half-mile. These races are the last chance for Super Late Model teams to compete at Five Flags before the 56th Annual Snowball Derby on Sunday, December 3.
A full entry list can be viewed below.
Jeremy Doss enters the weekend with the lead in Five Flags’ Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series points standings. He holds a 28-point advantage over Gio Ruggiero, with a win and a runner-up finish in Super Late Model competition at Five Flags Speedway this year.
The weekend will also lead to the crowning of the ASA Southern Super Series champion. In that series, Gio Ruggiero leads the points by 23 markers over Matt Craig.
Friday’s race will be the second race in the PepperJack Kennels Twin 100s, and the driver with the best average finish between those two races will win a coveted Snowball Derby prize package. Doss won the first race of the Twins on Friday, July 21, followed by Ruggiero and Jackson Boone.
Of course, plenty of other big names will be looking for a big win or two at Five Flags this weekend. Between Southern Super Series champions such as Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse and Hunter Robbins, past Snowball Derby winners Augie Grill and Travis Braden, and other SSS regulars such as Michael Hinde, Jett Noland and Jake Finch.
Throughout the field, there is plenty on the line this weekend at Five Flags. Beyond the obvious race wins, championship battles and the PepperJack Kennels prize package, every position matters in the points standings for both the Southern Super Series and Blizzard Series.
The highest-finishing driver in points (inside the top 10) from each series who does not qualify for the Snowball Derby during Pole Night on Friday, December 1 receives a provisional starting spot in the field. Thus, every points position inside the top 10 is a valuable one going into the biggest Super Late Model race of the year.
The Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series will also crown its champion on Saturday night, along with the Modifieds of Mayhem. Five Flags Speedway's Crown Stock division will be in action Friday night.
Fans unable to attend the event will be able to watch both nights of racing live on Racing America.
