Goddard's upcoming debut with FHR is a culmination of years spent honing his skills both behind the wheel and in the pits. Known for his versatility and hands-on experience, he has built strong relationships throughout the racing community, including with Jamie Yelton and the FHR crew. Now, he looks to capitalize on those experiences as he steps into a highly competitive environment.

“I first encountered the world of big-time SLM racing as a crewman, and it didn’t take long to notice that Jamie Yelton and FatHead Racing always had fast cars,” said Goddard. “But what stood out even more was their commitment to helping others in the pits, even when they were competitors. Over time, I got to know the team, and when the opportunity to drive for FHR came up, I jumped at it.”

FatHead Racing owner Jamie Yelton shared his enthusiasm for the new addition. “Michael is a dedicated racer with a lot of experience, both as a driver and working with teams across the country. He understands the intricacies of Super Late Model (SLM) racing, and we’re confident he’ll fit right in with our program,” said Yelton.

For Goddard, this weekend’s race is about more than just joining a new team—it’s an opportunity to establish himself among the elite in Super Late Model racing.

“My goal is to put myself on the map and build on the success that FatHead Racing has already achieved,” he said. “With the support of Jamie and the team, I’m confident we can stay competitive throughout the weekend, aiming for a top 10 finish and pushing for a win when it counts.”

As Goddard prepares for this weekend, his strategy focuses on securing a strong qualifying position, smart tire management, and maintaining track position. A victory this weekend would be a major milestone in his career and further solidify FatHead Racing’s standing as a top contender in the sport.

The 'Night of Champions' at Five Flags Speedway is the final stop before the iconic Snowball Derby in December. Events kick off with Friday’s rotating practice, followed by a full day of racing starting at 2:00 PM on Saturday.

Michael Goddard’s Super Late Model campaign is proudly supported by 4M Services, Century 21 J.W. Morton Real Estate (The Curry Team), RW Race Engines, FatHead Racing, and Brembo Brakes.
