Lafrance Performance Out of ACT Engine Program for One Year Following Multiple Part Infractions Discovered
Following research and discussions with the builder, ACT has suspended Lafrance Performance, based in Long Sault, Ontario, from the ACT Approved Engine Builders list for at least one calendar year.
Following routine maintenance of an ACT-sealed Chevrolet 603 engine during the last week, multiple infractions in said engine were reported to the American-Canadian Tour office in Barre, Vermont. Following research and discussions with the builder, ACT has suspended Lafrance Performance, based in Long Sault, Ontario, from the ACT Approved Engine Builders list for at least one calendar year.
“There were several internal parts within this engine that were not up to spec,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “Unfortunately, the discovery made for an easy call on our end. Our ACT Engine Program remains vital to the success of the Tour and we will do what needs to be done to continue that success.”
With the ruling, Lafrance Performance will not be affiliated with the ACT Approved Engine Builder program for one calendar year. Lafrance Performance will be allowed to apply for reinstatement on July 8, 2025.
