There are few more versatile or popular Nascar legends than Fenton, Missouri’s Ken Schrader. His racing career spans five decades, and the talented wheelman shows no signs of slowing.
Schrader will compete in a handful of stock car races over the next month with support from APC Auto Parts Centres and Federated Auto Parts, and it’s not just for show. Schrader is here to win.
Sunset Speedway plays host to the Stewarts Equipment APC United Racing Series 100 on August 12th, and Schrader will pilot a team car to rising star Kyle Steckly. Cars prepared by Kyle’s father - Canadian Motorsports Hall of Famer Scott Steckly - always show up fast.
“We are ecstatic to have Ken Schrader with us on August 12th. This is an event our fans have been counting down the days to for months - and this is addition is going to send the hype through the roof.”
“The APC United Late Model Series brings some of the best racing we see all season and I think Kenny and his team are going to be blown away at how passionate our fanbase is. August 12th is going to be a huge night for us. We can’t wait.”
A couple of days later Schrader will showcase his versatility when he competes on the dirt at Ohsweken Speedway in a Nascar Pinty’s Series double-header.
Schrader is no stranger to Ohsweken Speedway’s victory lane. He makes annual racing stops there that fit conveniently and purposely around his successful side business.
The ‘Get Dirty with Kenny Driving Experience’ tours multiple Ontario dirt tracks giving his clients the thrill of driving a dirt car. APC Auto Parts Centres uses these events as customer and corporate appreciation events. They will attend Ohsweken’s Nascar show with a sizeable cheering section.
“Kenny is always a crowd pleaser,” says Ohsweken Speedway General Manager Clinton Geoffrey. “Our fans love watching him race wheel to wheel with the best talent Canada has to offer.”
Each dirt race pays a hefty $25,000 to the winner, and Schrader is among the favourites to take at least one checkered flag that week.
The Ohsweken Speedway 100 lap Nascar events take place Monday and Tuesday, August 14th, and 15th with Schrader again piloting equipment prepared by Scott Steckly. He will drive the same car that finished a close second in 2022’s inaugural Nascar on dirt event in Canada. For more details and tickets go to www.sunsetspeedway.ca or www.ohswekenspeedway.ca
