The APC United Racing Series is returning to Flamboro Speedway this weekend for round 5 of the 2024 series tour and Jake Sheridan is coming back searching for the win he looked so sure to capture on the first stop here in June.

The 52 Pro Late Model put on a dominating performance during the first 66 laps at Flamboro Speedway before he brought out the caution for losing power and being unable to make it back to the pits.

“The alternator must have gone around lap 25 or so, I noticed all my gauges go dark. I knew at that point it would only be a matter of time before the battery gave out” Sheridan shared.

“As the laps kept counting down I felt our car getting better and better, so to have the alternator fail is devastating.”

Sheridan pulled his car into the pits during the caution and replaced the battery, however, that only lasted about 20 laps before hard contact during a racing incident caused him to lose power again, he retired from competition at that time.

All the poor luck aside Jake is feeling confident and looking forward to try his luck again on the second stop at the rough circuit, where he hopes to replicate the same quick Racecar he had a few weeks prior.

“Having some decent runs outside of our DNF’s really help keep the team pushing. We’ve had two back-to-back podiums, yeah I’m disappointed we couldn’t bring a better car to our home track Delaware Speedway last time out but a third place is something our team can be happy with and push on to get that win.”
