Jake Finch added another win in Pro Late Model competition with Ronnie Sanders Racing to his collection in the Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series finale at Five Flags Speedway, while Carson Brown secured the series championship.
Finch scored his first win in Pro Late Model competition at the Pensacola half-mile, taking the lead from Brown in the closing laps. Meanwhile, the runner-up finish was more than enough for Brown to secure the 2024 Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series championship.
“Super glad to be a part of this Ronnie Sanders team,” said Finch in victory lane. “I had a really good race car there. I figured if my Dawgs were going to play terrible, I could come out here and win a race. I thought that makes up for it a little bit.
“It’s pretty cool, My dad and him have a good relationship, obviously. Being little before I could drive, I was hanging out around the track with him and Casey [Roderick]. To be able to not only drive for them but win races for them is super cool.”
Brown settled for second place, which was enough to claim the season-long track championship for Pro Late Models at Five Flags. Brown added his name to the historic list of champions at Five Flags Speedway, and guaranteed that, at minimum, he is eligible for a provisional to take part in the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 in December.
“We were really good until the right front just went,” said Brown. “Just struggled with the right front wearing a lot. Overall, we ran a really good race.
“It’s really cool to be here and win the championship. It’s a historic track, and it’s really cool to be here.”
Seth Christensen finished third in the Allen Turner finale, allowing him to finish second in the series points. With two wins to his credit over the course of the season at Five Flags, Christensen was thrilled to be one of the contenders all season long.
“For not having the budget some of these guys have, I’m pretty proud of this team. We came out and had a pretty high expectation. I can’t complain with finishing on the podium. I’m super proud of the Fr8 Racing guys.”
Zack Dixon finished fourth, with Kaden Honeycutt rounding out the top five.
The next time the Allen Turner Pro Late Models take the green flag will be the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 on Saturday, December 7. The race takes place on the eve of the Snowball Derby and draws one of the top Pro Late Model fields from across the country each year.
