Montgomery Motor Speedway offered its first look at the entry list for the prestigious 61st Alabama 500, with 25 teams entered already for the Pro Late Model event on Saturday, March 1.
Several top Late Model drivers headline the early entry list, including the likes of defending Show Me the Money Series champion Jake Finch, five-time Alabama 200 winner Augie Grill, multi-time Show Me the Money champions John Bolen and Christopher Tullis, Rumble by the River winner Matthew Craig and more.
The Show Me the Money Series, the annual Pro Late Model track championship at Montgomery, boasted seven different winners in seven races in 2024. Casey Roderick won last year's Alabama 200, with Finch, Bolen, Grill, Stephen Nasse, George Phillips and Gavin Graham scoring wins during the season.
This stout entry field will be battling for the coveted bear trophy on March 1 in a truly historic event. The lineage of the Alabama 200 begins in 1960, with Crash Bond taking the win. The event has evolved over the years, even spending two years on the NASCAR Grand National (now NASCAR Cup Series) schedule. Richard Petty won the first such event on November 26, 1967, with Bobby Allison winning one year later.
The Alabama 200 took on its current form as a Show Me the Money Series event in 2017. Roderick earned his third Alabama 200 victory in 2024, with Augie Grill, Jake Garcia, Christopher Tullis, Hunter Robbins and Seth Christensen also winning the event since 2017.
The Modifieds of Mayhem Tour will also be at Montgomery on March 1, contesting its season opener. Celebrating the 61st running of the Alabama 200, the Modifieds of Mayhem will go 61 laps around the half-mile facility before the Pro Late Models take the stage.
