FatHead Racing (FHR) is proud to announce that George Phillips, a standout talent in the Pro Late Model series, has been signed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) for the next stage of his career. Phillips’ move to TRD marks a milestone in his journey, and FHR is honored to have played a role in his growth as a driver.
The 2024 season was a remarkable one for Phillips, who secured four Pro Late Model victories and multiple podium finishes, showcasing his skill and determination on the track. His success highlights FHR’s commitment to driver development and its ability to prepare young talents for opportunities at the highest levels of motorsport.
“George has been a fantastic part of our team, and we’re happy to see him take this next big step with Toyota,” said Jamie Yelton, owner of FHR. “Our program is all about developing drivers and giving them the tools they need to succeed. George’s hard work and dedication have brought him to this point, and we couldn’t be prouder.”
Looking ahead, FHR is reinforcing its driver development program with an increased focus on mentorship and hands-on coaching. Racing veteran Bubba Pollard, who recently joined FHR as a driver coach, will take on an even more prominent role in guiding the team’s young drivers.
“Our goal is to cultivate drivers who are willing to immerse themselves in the process, learn, and put in the effort it takes to succeed,” Yelton explained. “We’re not looking for someone who’s just here to race; we want someone who lives and breathes this sport, who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and work hard every day.”
Pollard echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of a strong work ethic. “I’m looking forward to working more closely with our drivers to help them grow,” said Pollard. “It’s not just about driving; it’s about understanding the car, the track, and the team. We want drivers who are all-in—who aren’t just looking at their phones but are focused on every aspect of improving their craft.”
As FHR prepares for the 2024 season, the team is eager to find the next rising star who embodies this level of commitment and drive.
While the team bids farewell to George Phillips, FHR remains committed to building future champions nd celebrating the successes of drivers who’ve moved on to bigger stages. “We thank George for a great season and all the memories he’s brought to our team,” added Yelton. “We’ll be cheering him on as he continues his career with TRD.”
