Dates Announced for Rogers-Dabbs Pro Late Model Challenge Races
Apr 16, 2024
It's going to be a different kind of year for Dylan Fetcho at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, but it was a familiar tune on Saturday night in the Music City.
The three-time track champion is not running for the points in 2024, instead running part-time while fielding other drivers in the Dylan Fetcho Racing stable throughout the season. During the season opener won by Michael House, Chad Willis drove the DFR No. 99 to a ninth-place finish.
Fetcho climbed back behind the wheel for the second round of the Pro Late Model season and flexed his muscle to take the win ahead of Dawson Sutton and Trey Craig. Fetcho had to fend off Sutton on a late restart but held on for the victory.
"Especially when you've got Michael House and Dawson Sutton right behind you, you've always got to worry. The car was really good on the long run. Honestly, it was better. On the short run, it got too tight, but we were able to hold them off."
The only driver to wrestle the lead away from Fetcho during the race was George Phillips, taking the top spot on lap 35. However, the car fell off the pace from the lead with a mechanical issue, ending Philips' night after 79 laps.
Fetcho reclaimed the top spot at that point and led the rest of the way for the victory. Meanwhile, Sutton now has back-to-back runner-up finishes at Nashville after finishing second to House on opening day.
Bennie Hamlett finished fourth for a second top-five run to start the year, while House rounded out the top-five.
The gates will open again on May 10-11 at Nashville Fairgrounds with a big weekend of racing. Friday, May 10 showcases the quarter-mile local divisions, with Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Crown Vics, Front Runners, Legends and Bandoleros on track.
On Saturday, May 11, the ARCA Menards Series East makes its annual visit for the Music City 200. There will also be the third race of the year for the Pro Late Models, as well as the first race of the CRA Street Stock Series Five Crown.
