When the zMAX CARS Tour makes its first trip to the state of Georgia on April 12, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will be part of the action.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee announced his intentions to compete in the CARS Tour's debut at Cordele Motor Speedway on Monday.

“It’s exciting to have the chance to take the zMAX CARS Tour to Cordele,” Earnhardt Jr. said in a CARS Tour press release. “Fans in the area have expressed excitement about this race being added to the schedule. Our teams are looking forward to this new challenge. I’m thrilled to add it to the short list of events I’ll be racing in next year.”

Both the Late Model Stock Cars and the Pro Late Models of the zMAX CARS Tour will take part in the April 12 event at Cordele. The event is the continued result of Greg and Lori Noland's efforts to revitalize the 3/8-mile facility after purchasing the track in 2024.

“I just bought the track at the end of last year,” said Noland. “We’ve completely remodeled the track. It’s a lot nicer than it was prior and everyone says they love it. My son used to drive on [Cordele] all the time, so I wanted to keep [this place running], especially since it's one of the last circle tracks in Georgia.”

“It’s been all positive,” added Cordele Motor Speedway General Manager Ricky Brooks. “The race track and area needs some energy the CARS Tour can bring. The pits have grown pretty fast, but we’re still working on the grandstands a little bit. I think the CARS Tour will bring more people [to Cordele] and hopefully they’ll stay as customers throughout the year.”

It will be the first event in the Peach State in the history of the CARS Tour. Previously, the Late Model Stock Cars have competed at 23 different tracks across the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia since the inaugural event in 2015.

The event is part of an action-packed 2025 season at Cordele Motor Speedway, which also sees the introduction of Super Fest for Super Late Model and Pro Late Model competitors. The 2025 edition of Super Fest builds towards the World Crown 300, which returned to Cordele in 2024 with Michael Hinde scoring the victory.

The first event of the year at Cordele Motor Speedway will be ASA SpeedFest, scheduled for January 17-18 headlined by a co-sanctioned Super Late Model event for the ASA/CRA Super Series and ASA Southern Super Series.

Tickets for the CARS Tour event at Cordele Motor Speedway will be available in late January, with more details to be announced in the coming weeks.
