Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Budweiser Reuniting for South Carolina 400 at Florence

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is bringing back the Budweiser colors when he returns to Florence Motor Speedway on November 22-23 for the South Carolina 400.

After several teases on Monday evening, Earnhardt, Jr. announced the throwback scheme to his Budweiser-sponsored NASCAR Cup Series cars on Tuesday morning. The car will compete in one of the biggest Late Model Stock races each year, the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway, as well as a limited series of Late Model Stock Car events for 2024 and 2025.

The design also marks the return of the signature stylized No. 8 from Earnhardt, Jr.'s tenure at Dale Earnhardt, Inc.

“It is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser, and the No. 8,” said Earnhardt, Jr. in a release. “Budweiser and I had some great memories with that iconic scheme and number. We've always supported each other over the years. It’s going to be really special for me to be able to represent that brand on the racetrack again.”

Anheuser-Busch, primarily through its Budweiser brand, sponsored Earnhardt, Jr. in the NASCAR Cup Series from his debut in 1999 until 2007.

“There are names that when mentioned, draw on the significance of their place in American history. Among them, Budweiser, and Earnhardt,” said Matt Davis, Vice-President of Partnerships at Anheuser-Busch. “This return to the racetrack alongside Dale with the Bud King of Beers paint scheme is another chapter in Anheuser-Busch's long and storied sports history.”

This is another in a series of throwback schemes as part of Earnhardt, Jr's Late Model Stock appearances since retiring full-time from NASCAR competition. When Earnhardt, Jr. returned for the Racetrack Revival event at North Wilkesboro Speedway in 2022, he did so with the iconic green Sun Drop car from his early Late Model career.

Later that year, Earnhardt competed in the South Carolina 400 in a Bass Pro Shops throwback to his father's entry in NASCAR's All-Star Race, the Winston, in 1998. He brought back another throwback to his formative years, sponsored by Mom 'n' Pops, for Florence's IceBreaker in 2023.

Earnhardt, Jr. will be making his third appearance in the South Carolina 400. The NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee finished ninth in the 2022 edition of the event and finished eighth last year.
