Rusty Wallace Named Grand Marshal for ASA STARS 'Tar Heel 250' at Hickory

The ASA STARS National Tour will return on Thursday, May 23 to the historic Hickory Motor Speedway for the running of the Tar Heel 250. The co-sanctioned event between the ASA STARS National Tour and the ASA Southern Super Series features some of the best Super Late Model drivers from 11 States and Canada.
Former champions, NASCAR stars, event winners, and up and comers are all entered for the big event. The Thursday evening event features a 250 lap feature paying $15,000 to win and $1,500 to start. In addition to the ASA STARS National Tour, the US Legend Cars will be on hand for a National Qualifier event.
The ASA STARS National Tour Tar Heel 250 will be a part of the kick off to the NASCAR Weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway which is just one hour away. On Wednesday the 22nd, the ASA STARS National Tour and the Legends will have hauler parking and practice from 5-8pm. Thursday the 24th will feature Go Fas Pole Qualifying, an autograph session with the ASA STARS National Tour, the legend National Qualifier event, and the Tar Heel 250. NASCAR Hall of Fame member and former ASA National Tour Champion Rusty Wallace will be on hand as Grand Marshal of the event.
NASCAR Stars Chase Elliott and Josh Berry are both entered and ready to take on the best Super Late Model drivers in the country.
Defending event winner Gio Ruggiero is among the mix of entered drivers as well as his teammate Cole Butcher, who currently leads the 2024 point standings. Casey Roderick, who currently separates the two and is second in the standings, will also be there.
Adding their names into the mix include Southern Super Series Champion Bubba Pollard, 2-time Southern Super Series Champion Stephen Nasse, Midwest Tour stand out Austin Nason, Canadian Champion Kyle Steckly, and young up and comers William Sawalich, Jett Noland, Brent Crews, Conner Jones, Dawson Sutton, Matt Craig, Caden Kvapil, Billy VanMeter, Michael Hinde, and more.

ASA STARS National Tour
Founded by Track Enterprises President Bob Sargent, The ASA STARS National Tour for pavement super-late model stock cars debuted in March 2023 for Super Late Model racing in America.
The ASA STARS National Tour is a ten-race championship series, offering a $100,000 point fund. The tour will visit ten different race tracks in 7 states in 2024, with the season beginning in February during Florida Speedweeks, and concluding in early November at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Track Enterprises (TE) is a racing Promotions Company based in Illinois, which owns and operates the ASA STARS National Tour. In addition to the STARS National Tour, Track Enterprises owns and operates Championship Racing Association (CRA) and the ASA Midwest Tour. TE also has a strategic alliance and controlling interest in the ASA Southern Super Series.
