NASCAR Hall of Famer Matt Kenseth Returns to Slinger Nationals
May 19, 2023
Chase Elliott will make his first appearance in one of the top Super Late Model events of the summer this July. The former NASCAR Cup Series champion will make the trip to Slinger Super Speedway for the 44th Annual Cobblestone Hotels Slinger Nationals Presented by Lynch Buick GMC West Bend on July 11.
Elliott has ramped up his Super Late Model appearances during the 2023 racing season. He started the year by taking part in SpeedFest 2023 at Crisp Motorsports Park, and also took part in ASA STARS National Tour events at North Wilkesboro Speedway and Hickory Motor Speedway during a busy month of May in the Carolinas. Elliott finished third in the North Wilkesboro Super Late Model event, behind Bubba Pollard and Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron.

Elliott cut his teeth in Super Late Models while climbing the racing ladder, and scored victories in prestigious events such as the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway, the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway and the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park. However, the Slinger Nationals will be a new challenge for Elliott.
Located in Slinger, Wisconsin, Slinger Super Speedway is a high-banked quarter-mile bullring. Past champions of the Slinger Nationals include Alan Kulwicki, Mark Martin, Dick Trickle, Matt Kenseth, Rich Bickle, Kyle Busch, Bubba Pollard and Ty Majeski.
One year ago, Byron took the win in the Slinger Nationals, taking the lead from Majeski with 14 laps to go in a dramatic finish.
