Salem, IN (June 29, 2022) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will head back to Birch Run Speedway this Saturday for the second of three events at the 4/10’s mile oval located just outside of Birch Run, Michigan. Saturday’s event will be the second event of the Triple Crown Series for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at Birch Run Speedway in 2022. The Triple Crown Series Championship event will take place on Saturday, September 10th. Brighton, Michigan native Kyle Crump won the first Triple Crown Event at Birch Run Speedway on Sunday, May 15th after weather postponed the event one day.

Crump and the Crosstown Motorsports Team are now in the driver’s seat for the VanDoorn Racing Development Winners Bonus with the Birch Run Speedway Triple Crown Series for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. If Crump elects to start at the tail of this Saturday’s second Triple Crown event and if he can win the event, he will receive a $7,000 bonus. If Crump wins the second Triple Crown event, then elects on the Triple Crown Series Championship event to start on the tail, if he wins that event, he will receive a $25,000 bonus. That’s an opportunity for Crump to win $32,000 in bonus winnings for the winner of the Triple Crown Series!

There is more to the Triple Crown Series than just the winner’s bonus program, the top three overall finishers in the Triple Crown Series points will receive: Champion $2500, 2nd Place: $1250 3rd Place: $1000, at the Birch Run Speedway Champions Banquet in the Fall of 2022. Evan Shotko is the current Triple Crown points leader with 107 points. Crump is in second with 104 points. Dakota Stroup and Chase Burda are tied for third with 94 points. Nick Egan and Katie Hettinger are tied for fifth with 92 points.

The series had its 2022 season opener at Salem Speedway on Sunday, April 24th as part of the Midwest 250, where Casey Roderick came away with the win. Dylan Fetcho won the series’ second event of the season at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on May 7th. Crump won the series third event of the season at Birch Run on May 15th. Ethan Stadniczuk scored his first ever series win at the series’ Flat Rock Speedway event on June 18th.

Egan, the series’ leading rookie, comes into Saturday’s event as the series’ Championship points leader. Stroup is in second place. Roderick is in third place. Shotko is in fourth place with Cole Williams in fifth place.

Crump tops the list of entries for Saturday night’s second Triple Crown event. Top five Triple Crown points drivers Stroup, Burda, Egan and Hettinger are also entered. Other top entries include Stadniczuk, Birch Run’s own Dan Leeck the 2014 and 2019 series’ Champion and former Birch Run Speedway event winner, Albert Francis, Jimmy Tucker, Kevin Cremonesi, Evan Varney, Brian Demland, David Liaff, Brett Robinson, James Krueger and Paul Tregembo.

Crump’s biggest competition on Saturday could be NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Carson Hocevar, the series’ 2017 Rookie of the Year and a four-time feature winner with the series, including a win at Birch Run in August of 2017. Hocevar has overcome injuries sustained in a hard crash at the Truck Series race at Gateway on June 4th, not missing a beat in his Truck and is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of a late model again.

Two Canadians have entered Saturday’s event, Nicholas Naugle from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is entered to make his series debut, while Tyler MacKenzie from Maidstone, Ontario is entered to make his series 2022 debut. MacKenzie had raced with the series prior to COVID, and with the border open now, MacKenzie will once again compete in selected series events.

There will be an open practice time available for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour teams on Friday, July 1st, pits open at 12noon with JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, open practice from 1 to 4pm. There will be live music at Birch Run on Friday evening along with a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour drivers autograph session.

On Saturday, July 2nd, pits will open at 12pm. JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour practice is set to begin at 3pm. Nova Motorsports qualifying for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will begin at 6:45pm. Racing action will begin at 7:30pm that will include the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100 lap Triple Crown feature, plus several local divisions with features only and a Fireworks show.
